German journalist Sabine Kehm was born on 3 December 1964.
Sabine Kehm, born 3 December 1964, is a German journalist who later became the long-time press officer and manager for former Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher and, subsequently, for his son Mick Schumacher. Kehm grew up in Bad Neustadt an der Saale. She studied sports and sports journalism at the German Sports University in Cologne, and after completing training at the Axel Springer School of Journalism in Berlin she worked as a sports editor for publications including Die Welt and Süddeutsche Zeitung.
In 1999 she was recruited by Schumacher’s then-manager to become his press officer and media consultant. Over time, that role expanded: following Schumacher’s retirement from racing, she handled communications for him — including during his period as a consultant for Ferrari. In 2010 Kehm assumed full managerial duties for Michael Schumacher, and after his skiing accident in December 2013 she has continued to manage his affairs and public communication. Over the years she has also managed the career of his son Mick Schumacher.
Her career reflects a transition from traditional sports journalism into a central position within one of motorsport’s most notable families — a role defined by discretion, trust and deep insight into the demands of Formula 1 and media relations.
